Welcome! You are deserving of love, joy and liberation. My name is Maya (they/them) and I am a therapist-in-training here at Sol Health. I’m here to create a warm and nonjudemental space to share and explore your experiences. I look forward to walking alongside you toward wellness.
As a therapist-in-training, I utilize many methods to fit each person, including somatic techniques, DBT skills, psychodynamic and behavioral activation. I welcome integration of spirituality, creativity and cultural practices into session, centering your perspective, interests and passions. Each emotion that comes up will be greeted with compassion, making room for laughter, even in our deepest moments. Together, we will build sustainable practices that align with your values and goals.
Currently, I’m a student pursuing my master’s in social work at Columbia University specializing in advanced clinical practice. For the past 3 years, I have worked in substance abuse treatment as well as child welfare. I have always been interested in combining social justice and mental health work, and got my bachelor’s in social work at the University of Pittsburgh. My personal and professional focus is on restorative justice, trauma and its impacts, and community connectedness. My dream is to provide therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples, friend groups and families (chosen and otherwise).
